A: Sanity School™ is a concentrated program that includes a combination of training, coaching and support, and teaches a "coach-approach" to parenting complex kids. In addition to "positivity" and "strategies," which are covered in most parent training programs, Sanity School™ covers issues specific to complex kids – like "activating the brain," shifting expectations without lowering them, and how to create systems and structures that are really effective for complex kids.
Consider it a crash course for a newbie, or a refresher course if you are a seasoned veteran. Truly, any parent with a complex child is welcome. We have made it our focus to ensure that this program hits on the most important things a parent of any complex kid needs to know. No messing around – we get right to the point!
Q. How much does it cost?
A: The cost of Sanity School™ varies depending on the community, enabling local trainers to provide the program as affordably as possible.
When you consider that each class is like mixing the training of a parenting book, with the guidance of a coaching or therapy session AND the comfort of a support group, all rolled into one, it’s pretty comprehensive. So each session costs somewhere between the cost of a parenting book and the cost of a private therapy session.
But these classes are much more interactive. They engage you with exercises, so they’re a LOT more effective than the books that are sitting on your bedside table waiting for your attention.
The cost of visiting a therapist is frequently in the region of $200 per hour, and attending a conference frequently adds up to hundreds or thousands of dollars (depending on location). Either way, for the information you’ll get in a course like this, you could end up paying in the region of $1200 (plus babysitting, etc.). Sanity School™ is a much more modest investment for the same quality training you’d receive at a conference or in a therapist’s office. Given that you can learn in your home city with no travel costs, and you don’t have to worry about the childcare costs or stress of leaving your complex child at home for days, this is a much more efficient and effective investment of your time and money!
Q. Who is your Sanity School™ instructor?
A: Kim McClure is a Health and Wellness Coach who works with parents of complex kids to improve their self-confidence and relationships by teaching simple and clear strategies that help them reach for success.
Kim knows that a healthy and strong parent/child relationship is the most effective way to make a positive difference in your complex child’s life. She also knows firsthand, how difficult it is to raise a complex child and has years of experience researching integrative techniques, tools and systems that she applied to support her child and many others along the way.
Kim received her post-baccalaureate certificate in Health and Wellness Coaching from Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH). She also completed courses in holistic nutrition, cooking and studied current diet strategies for ADHD. Kim is a certified Sanity School Live - Parents Trainer in Maryland. Q. If I don’t find this useful, is there a guarantee?
A: Yes, we offer a no risk guarantee. If, after the program you don’t feel like you have gotten value from it, let us know within 30 days of the program end, at TheTeam@ImpactADHD.com and your money will be cheerfully refunded.
Q. Who are the Office Hours coaches and creators of Sanity School®?
A: Elaine Taylor-Klaus and Diane Dempster are parenting coaches and mothers who have 6 kids with a number of complex issues between them.
Unfortunately, when their kids were younger, the kind of support that would have helped them was not available.
This is what inspired them to co-found ImpactADHD, as they recognised a huge need for support that makes a real difference. They hope that no parent ever has to go through this alone – not when they know they can do something to help!
After delivering Sanity School™ online for several years, they realized that some parents really want to walk into a room and see other parents, face to face. So they decided it was time to license and certify other caring, helping professionals to teach Sanity School™ in local communities. There are now more than 40 professionals who are providing Sanity School™ in more than 7 countries, and they have all completed a rigorous course with more than 30 hours of training. Elaine and Diane provide support and continuing education for local Sanity School® trainers, and support for local participants with Office Hours and a private members forum.
